One of the biggest brags of my life thus far is that I wrote a script, and it was good enough that one of my comedy idols, Jim O’Heir (whom you might know as Jerry from NBC’s Parks and Rec) really wanted to do it — even though we could only afford to pay him a fraction of what he’s worth. It’s a prickly character — a Midwestern pastor — that would be hard for anyone to get right, but Jim knocked it out of the park. Working with him and the rest of this stellar cast and crew was a wild fever dream. It was by far the biggest challenge I’ve ever taken on, and I’m just crazy enough to want to do it again.
